Arepas with Rumba Cheese


  • Andino Rumba Cheese, Fresh (cuajada) Rumba Cheese or D’hoja Rumba Cheese
  • 1 cup of White or Yellow Corn.
  • 1 cup and 3 tablespoons of water.
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter
  • Sugar to taste


  1. In a container place the White or Yellow Corn.
  2. Add the water little by little. Add salt and sugar to taste to flavor the dough.
  3. Add a little Butter if you wish.
  4. Add ground Cheese D’hoja, Cuajada or Andino Rumba to taste.
  5. Mix very well and let the dough rest for 3 minutes.
  6. Knead until you obtain a smooth dough without lumps.
  7. Assemble the small arepas and grill on a hot grill.
  8. To finish, you can open the arepas and add grated cheese.
  9. Enjoy this delicious tradition!
